Originally from Munich, Germany, Claudia is a person of the world and has travelled extensively. She now divides her time between Berlin, Bernried am Starnberger See and Valais, Switzerland, where she offers group and private yoga classes for all ages.
Claudia’s relationship with Yoga began when she was a child and her journey led to her becoming a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher in 2018. Since then Claudia has taught, trained and recently been involved in an exciting project at the Buchheim Museum titled YOGA FOR ALL, which connects Yoga and Art as a common experience.
Having spent part of her childhood in the Swiss Alps Claudia feels a strong connection to nature and a responsibility for all living things that inhabit the mountains. Claudia also sees an intrinsic link between nature and her practice; she believes yoga is “connecting the beauty of this world around us with the beauty of the universe inside us”.
Currently, Claudia is studying for a degree in Indian philosophy, mantra and yoga sutras chanting which she plans to offer workshops on, upon the course's completion. Claudia has also recently passed her Iyengar Yoga Level 2 Exam which means she will soon begin Teacher Training to become a mentor too!
Claudia offers two different variations of Iyengar Yoga: general and restorative. In her general Iyengar sessions Claudia provides a space to focus on the body's dynamism and precision when practising yoga. She focuses on alignment and correct posture being the key elements in asanas in order to bring balance to the body and mind.
In Claudia’s restorative Iyengar classes she focuses on holding poses for longer periods of times, with the help from props such as bolsters, belts, pillows and blankets. In these sessions Claudia helps her students explore the depth of asanas in combination with breathwork.
Claudia has led several yoga retreats in collaboration with a health centre just outside of Amsterdam in Holland. Each retreat has had a different theme and has been for beginner to intermediate level students from the ages of 20 to 58 years old.
She has taught on re-energising Yoga weekends, Yoga retreats for emotional balance, specialised classes for specific areas of pain as well as yoga for pregnancy.
Claudia is very much open to leading yoga retreats anywhere in the Alps as she loves meeting and working with the variety of people who attend them. She really enjoys working with groups over short, intensive periods as she finds great joy in providing her students with advice to help them in their daily yoga practice.
